I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book you wrote on the RDA. I thought having your experiences in it as a child through out your adult hood helped us understand the man who ran the RDA for 24 years. It showed you were not some political hack who got the job because of the politician he knew. I also learned alot from reading and it has given me a better understanding of what the RDA is all about. I truly hope all three of our commissioners read the book, I beleive it will open their eyes to the importance of RDA. I hope you enjoy your retirement. I also hope that Maple Beech will some day be a reality, that jobe shows some great vision.

Wonderful personal and professional memoir. All political leaders should read this book so they have a detailed understanding of what the RDA is about and how it can help their communities.
Also a great refresher course for those of us who work day and day out with all levels of government as to what is possible with foresight, hard work and not taking no for an answer without a fight. Thank you Bob for a lifetime of giving back to the citizens of Bucks County. Your work will live on even though you have retired from the day to day operation of the RDA. I am proud to call you a friend!
Thank you for your fast delivery of your book. Audrey picked it up out of curiosity and could barely take time away form her other activities because she found the book so interesting. Allan Slutsky has succeeded in capturing who you were and how you transformed Bucks County. But more important, he was able to write a very interesting, easy readable book and captures the essence of who you are and how you got there. Your spirit, philosophy and “can do” attitude are all there.
I particularly liked how you broke down each project according to the positives and negatives of reaching your goals.
As a lifelong Bucks County resident, and a fan of historic buildings and communities, Bob’s book was an absolute joy! Much more than a primer on how a redevelopment authority functions, Bob’s book is a deeply personal exploration of what motivates people to take on big projects, how to tenaciously fight to see them through, and – occasionally – how to accept defeat. If Bob is a larger than life personality, this book is a candid glimpse at the man himself. An optimist while a realist. A dreamer with a motivation to improve lives by improving neighborhoods.
Just finished the book and was totally engrossed the whole read. Having grown up in Bucks County I had heard of many of these industrial sites during their glory days but never heard anything about their demise. At least not until I met Bob White and read his book. How he and his crew was able to manage the bureaucratic hurdles is a study unto itself.
